Treasure Chest

Disclaimer: Despite the fact that “The Treasure Chest” was the name for the burlesque club in Charlie’s Angels- Full Throttle, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTJkJVgCGh8) this has NOTHING to do with burlesque or porn (my mother will never allow that)

I wanted to start a new series for lists of things that inspire me or cool nouns: things, people, places, that I want to share. You never know what you’ll find, but you might find GOLD! 

This is me way of splitting me treasures from the seven seas with ye!

1. 頑張ってる人: There’s a common phrase in Japanese- to 頑張る “ganbaru/ganbare” is to give it your all, tough it out, and when you say it to other people, it means good luck, you got this - basically, it’s a motivational pep, if you will. I love people who have this quality within them. Always striving to be better, always involved, always moving forward-constantly trying forsomething. It’s the most amazing sight to see. It’s inspiring, it’s motivating, and let’s face it- it’s super attractive.
2. Hope Kauffman photography You already know how much I love Emerson, and how AWESOME/ Brilliant the alums/students are (I mean, THE FONZ went there- that is Nick at Nite GOLD. Respect.) This girl is an Emersonian, therefore that’s reason enough to like her numero UNO. BUT, on top of that, her photo site is BALLER. For her inspirations, check out her tumblr. *For my fashion forward biddies: this girl looks pretty ALL THE TIME. Her closet is like a teenage wet dream and URBAN+ANTHROPOLOGY’s love child. She is one to watch!
3. GEORGE HARRISON: Living in a Material World US premier on HBO this week! The gift of Harrison is here! DVR it on 10/5 and 10/6. um, YOUR WELCOME, MANKIND. PS. even the trailer made me weep.
4. PUMPKIN FEVER. MY favorite time of year (FALL) has arrived with all it’s Fresh Fall Fabulousness. There’s pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING in the stores, and I for one, am a great fan! Not rocket science or anything new, but just in case, this is a friendly reminder to get your butt to a Starbucks/Yankee Candle/Dunkin/Liquor store. Pumpkin may not be the most appetizing thing to eat, but thrown in as a flavor?! HELLO! This stuff is GOLD.
5. PLAID- If you’re anything like me, you have your closet organized in order of your summer plaid followed by your winter plaid. However, I have heard from many others that PLAID tends to be more of a “winter fashion staple,” so now I can take this opportunity to say: for once, I am comfortable AND fashionable. That’s right, whip out those cozy flannels that resemble your PJs, for it’s pajama day everyday! TGFP-Thank God For Plaid.
